Innovative Fiber Optic Solutions for Civil Engineering

Photonics has several applications in civil engineering: structural health monitoring, material monitoring, environmental measurements (soil, pollutant, gas, smoke…), opto-pyrotechnics systems for safe demolition of buildings…

What sets us apart?

Photonics-based sensors can be used to monitor the health of materials and structures such as wind turbines, bridges, buildings, tunnels, pipelines, seabed, composite materials by measuring parameters such as strain, temperature and vibration. Differents techniques allow non-destructive testing.

Photonics-based sensing and spectroscopy techniques can be used to detect and measure the environment (soil condition, pollutant, gas, smoke, storm lighting, city lighting…).

A new generation of opto-pyrotechnics systems using lasers, optical fiber harnesses and explosives can be used where controlled and safe demolition of a building is required.
