Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG)
Product description
Our custom FBGs are engineered to cover a broad wavelength range, from 1000 to 1600 nm, ensuring optimal performance across diverse optical systems (both passive and active applications).
- Uniform FBG: A uniform FBG consists of a consistent grating period along the entire length of the fiber. This configuration reflects a single, narrow wavelength (depends of the FBG length), making it ideal for applications requiring precise wavelength selection.
- Chirped FBG: A chirped FBG has a varying grating period along its length, enabling it to reflect and/or filter a broader range of wavelengths. This configuration is useful for dispersion compensation in optical systems.
- FBG arrays: This configuration includes several gratings written on the same optical fiber. FBG arrays allow for multiple wavelength reflections in a single fiber, enabling complex multiplexing and sensing applications.
- Custom FBG: A custom FBG is tailored to specific requirements, allowing for unique grating patterns, periods, and lengths to be designed according to the application’s needs. This flexibility makes custom FBGs suitable for specialized tasks such as tailored filtering, precise wavelength discrimination, or specific sensing applications in challenging environments.

Wavelength-selective mirrors or Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBG) consist of selecting only a very precise wavelength thanks to an optical mirror which was first photo-imprinted into an optical fiber. This technology is a key component for fiber lasers. FBG can be used as a High reflector (HR) and Low/Less reflector (LR) to create a laser cavity in a fiber laser.
